“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
Many people begin their day with plans, goals, and decisions already made in their minds. We rush into conversations, business opportunities, purchases, relationships, and daily tasks without stopping to seek God’s direction. Yet the Bible reminds us that true wisdom comes from the Lord.
Before taking any step, whether it seems big or small, make it a habit to ask God first. A simple prayer can save us from unnecessary mistakes, wrong decisions, and wasted effort. God sees what we cannot see. He knows the future while we only know the present.
Sometimes we believe our experience, intelligence, or emotions are enough to guide us. However, feelings can change, and human understanding has limits. God’s perspective is perfect. When we seek Him first, He gives peace about the right path and warns us when something is not meant for us.
Think about the major decisions in your life. How many challenges could have been avoided if you had paused and asked God for guidance? The good news is that every morning is a new opportunity to place your plans before Him. Before sending that message, signing that agreement, starting that project, or making that choice, take a moment to pray.
Asking God first does not mean waiting for a dramatic sign from heaven. Often, He guides through His Word, inner peace, wise counsel, and circumstances that open or close doors. Our responsibility is simply to seek Him sincerely and trust His leading.
Today, make this your morning habit: “Lord, what do You want me to do?” When God is invited into your decisions, you walk with confidence because you know you are not walking alone. His wisdom becomes your compass, and His presence becomes your strength.
Remember, success is not merely doing things right; it is doing the right things under God’s direction. Before you act, ask. Before you decide, pray. Before you move, seek God.
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of this new day. Help me not to rely on my own understanding but to seek Your wisdom in everything I do. Guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. Open the doors You want me to enter and close the doors that are not part of Your plan. Fill my heart with peace, patience, and trust in Your perfect timing. May I honor You in every choice I make today.
