“The Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.”
— Hebrews 12:6 (NIV)
Many of us silently wonder: “If I am doing good, walking in faith, praying, and choosing the Bible’s path — why does my life still shake?”
Why does our nest — the place of comfort, security, and hope — sometimes feel unstable even when our intentions are pure?
The Bible reminds us that walking with God does not mean a life without shaking. In fact, Scripture repeatedly shows that God’s most faithful people faced their greatest tests while doing right.
Think of Job — righteous, prayerful, generous — yet his entire nest was shaken. Think of Joseph — obedient and faithful — yet betrayed, imprisoned, and forgotten. Even Jesus Himself walked a perfect path, yet faced rejection, pain, and the cross.
So why does this happen?
Sometimes, God allows the nest to shake not to destroy us, but to strengthen our wings. A nest that never moves can make a bird afraid to fly. In the same way, a faith that is never tested may never grow deeper.
Shaking often comes to remove what we depend on more than God — comfort, people, money, plans, or pride. When those supports tremble, our hearts are gently redirected back to Him. The Bible says, “We walk by faith, not by sight.” Faith becomes real when sight feels uncertain.
There are also moments when the shaking is spiritual resistance. The enemy does not disturb empty paths — he resists meaningful journeys. When you choose goodness, integrity, prayer, and truth, resistance is a sign that your path carries purpose.
Remember this truth:
A shaking nest does not mean God has left. It often means God is near, working deeply.
God never wastes pain. Every tremor carries a lesson, a pruning, or a preparation for something greater. The same God who allows the shaking is the One who steadies your soul through it.
If your nest is shaking today, don’t panic. Hold tighter to God’s promises. The shaking will pass, but the strength you gain will remain.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for walking with me even when my life feels unstable. When my nest shakes and my heart feels afraid, remind me that You are still in control. Help me trust Your purpose, even when I don’t understand the process. Strengthen my faith, refine my spirit, and prepare me for what You are building within me. I choose to believe that every shaking is leading me closer to Your perfect plan.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
